St. Olaf College
At St. Olaf College I have taught Discrete Mathematical Reasoning, Calculus II, Abstract Algebra I, Abstract Algebra II, Seminar In Invariant Theory, and Linear Algebra.
Peadagogy influences
I use a inquiry-based approach to teaching mathematics and I have been using standard-based and specification grading since Spring 2020. I am a fellow of the Team-Based Inquiry Learning institute and a contributing author of Calculus for Team-Based Inquiry Learningin the TBIL Library. I am passionate about empowering scholars with tech tools that can advance their professional carreer and I am a contributing author to GitHub for Mathematicians.
Other University Teaching
At Kalamazoo College I have taught Calculus I and II, Calculus with Review, Linear Algebra and Discrete Mathematics.
At the University of Michigan I have taught: Math for Future Elementary Teachers, Preparation for Calculus, Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III.
In addition to being a primary instructor, I have also coordinated Preparation for Calculus and trained new instructors for this course.
Other Teaching
In Summer 2017, 2018, and 2019, I have been a Graduate Course Assistant for the Michigan Math and Science Scholars program. This is an enrichment program for high school students interested in math and science. I have taught the Graph Theory session with Doug Shaw. We have written a paper with one of the students on one of the most beloved course topics, Harris Graphs.
